The Georgia Hemp Company sells "Dogwalker" branded THCa pre-rolls; potentially infringing on Green Thumb Industries' trademark
The company also appears to be skirting around Georgia's recent ban on hemp THCa flower by drop-shipping it from North Carolina to Georgia customers
Users accessing the Georgia Hemp Company’s website are also now greeted by a pop-up that directs them to High There Co’s website, where they can purchase THCa flower.
Among the products offered, users can find “THCa Dog Walker Mini Pre-Rolls”.
Green Thumb Industries currently owns the Dogwalkers brand and the trademark associated with it.
On Oct 1, new hemp regulations banning THCa flower in Georgia went into effect, raising concerns from consumers on social media.
ABC’s Channel 9 reported that “Joe Salome co-owner of the Georgia Hemp Company is in full support of the bill. He says for years there was uncertainty around the hemp business but this law helps to soothe their worries.”
While THCa flower is now banned in Georgia, it would appear that the owners of the Georgia Hemp Company have found a way around it: ship it from their newly registered NC hemp company: JOyRYde LLC dba High There Co
NC Secretary of State business registration records show that High There Co’s street address coincides with NC JOyRYde LLC, registered under The Georgia Hemp Company’s co-founder Ryan Dills.
While the duo welcomed Georgia’s THCa ban, it would seem they have found a way to profit with reduced competition by directing consumers to High There Co and shipping THCa flower from NC.
A reddit user reports that multiple NC hemp companies are continuing to ship hemp THCa flower to Georgia.
